Run Norwich are delighted to announce Aviva as the Main Sponsor of the event.
The award-winning Run Norwich 10k returns to the city on Sunday 19th July, for the sixth iteration of the popular race.
Aviva, who employ over 5,300 people in their Norwich offices, are the UK’s biggest insurance firm, serving one in four people nationwide.
In the build-up to race day, Run Norwich will be working with Aviva as part of their exciting and collaborative #NorwichTogether campaign.
Led by Aviva, the initiative brings together local businesses, not-for-profits and public sector organisations to tackle loneliness in Norwich.
Jude Brooks, UK Head of Corporate Responsibility at Aviva, said:
‘’We’re delighted to be sponsoring Run Norwich this year. Not only are we proud to support an event with such inherent health and wellbeing benefits, it’s also a fantastic opportunity to bring the people of our city together. As a company with strong roots in Norwich we want to shout about our commitment to building stronger, more connected communities, through our Norwich Together programme.’’
Ian Thornton, Chief Executive of Norwich City Community Sports Foundation – the race organisers – said:
“We’ve had a close relationship with Aviva for many years through their, and our, association with Norwich City Football Club.
“More recently, they’ve provided backing for a host of our community programmes, including our disability football leagues, football-themed school programmes, and an LGBT-inclusive football team – the Proud Canaries.
“We’re delighted they’re supporting our biggest event, Run Norwich, as part of their Norwich Together programme. We look forward to supporting them in their mission to tackle loneliness and build strong communities in our fine city, as well as revealing some other exciting initiatives in the build-up to race day.”
Since it began in 2015, over 18,000 people have run the race, and over £500,000 has been raised for the Foundation and its chosen official charity partners.
